Champion for Wash

by Lizeth Méndez - Social Communication Department

One week ago we had visitors from Wash United NGO, they are working in a prevention campaign called Champion for Wash.

They came to Laini-Saba primary school to teach children how to wash their hands to prevent diseases such diarrhoea, cholera and typhoid. These diseases are very dangerous. Some of them are the main causes of death in Kenya especially in children. Children played a game like football as a kind of entertainment, but at the same time they were learning about health. This prevention campaign is being promoted in different parts of Kenya; it has the support of popular soccer players because of the World Cup.

It is easy for children to get good messages by playing. The Human Rights Department made this campaign possible in our parish.
