Peace Building department

The Department of Peace Building was set up to address the security and peaceful co-existence needs of the Parish.

Its vision is to see that the Parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church and Kibera live in a peaceful , co-existence and to be able to uphold, protect and embrace justice, love, peace, tolerance, dialogue, truth, Human Rights, and equality as a way of life. It helps the Parishioners to achieve sustainable peace and security by offering people opportunities and assistance to look for peaceful solution to their problems. The Department teaches respect for all, without any form of discrimination of race, gender, tribe, social status or economical standards. It uses rallies, prayer services, meetings and other forums as focal points for awareness raising, educating and mobilizing, promoting the good of every person.

The Department helps build cohesive groups among children, youth and community, on issues of peace, promoting methods of integral conflicts solution methods and a Human Rights approach.
