Reconciliation Time

by Dolores Wavinya - Social Communication Department

It is five weeks now since the ten members group started the retreat. Last Saturday we gathered together in a quiet seminary ground with our prayer guides, two priests and a religious sister for a full day exercise. It was a day of reconciliation. Each member narrated their experiences, discoveries, achievements and encounter with the Lord. Many wanted to forgive and reconcile with family members, workmates, bosses, spouses, friends and even enemies whom for many years they carried with reproach in their hearts. We were allowed to observe a quiet moment alone and search deeply our hearts what we needed to tell the Lord. The climax came when each of us approached the priests seated at strategic different positions to seek for the sacrament of reconciliation. You could breathe the peace emanating from each penitent. After lunch came the celebration of the Eucharist. We were all jubilant and dancing with joy through out the Mass. The Lord had set us free from bondage of sin and now we could rejoice and praise in His presence. One of the members, Consolata Namai expressed how she loathed her boss and others for hating her. This day she discovered that they were all concerned and wanted the best for her. She resolved to change her attitude towards them. This retreat ends on Saturday, 21st August, 2010. I congratulate all the participants for their great devotion and untiring effort. May the good Lord grant us good health through out this period of time.
